Think Simple Now Wisdom

I can’t think of a perfect way to get myself back into my Writely Applied state of mind then by casting off into that internet sea and snagging a creative resource for you. How apropos that I found something that truly speaks to us.

At Think Simple Now there is a focus on Creativity, Clarity & Happiness. Tina introduces herself as the CHO (Chief Happiness Officer) and wants “to bring more fulfillment and happiness to the lives of others.” What can I say, girlfriend is talking to me.

I found The Panacea for Putting Things Off and three words said it all. “Delaying is addictive.” Ouch. But we all know how hard it is to get back up on that horse some time. And we feel we have important excuses to delay. Family and work come first…why on earth would I consider my creativity over the needs of others?

Visit Think Simple Now and you will find the solution very simple…you’re not going to put it off are you?

And for an added bonus, visit Tina’s blog, Simply Tina and choose some happiness for yourself while you are getting busy being creative.

And Then Life Happened

Yes, I’ve been busy with life. I’ve watched my oldest start middle school, my youngest enter preschool…and my middle child will finish off her last year of preschool before Kindergarten. I’ve re-entered the workforce of sorts but only because it is rewarding and keeps me in tune with the creative community I love. Many of you are part of this community, the bloggers, writers and inspired creativity seekers.

What we seek may be different than what we will find. If you are on the same page as me then you realize that that is just life. And so life happens everyday. It is in our way, it is a part of us…it is what we maneuver around to get where we are going.

Where are you going with your writing? Is life an obsticle, a motivator, the inspiration that fills the page?

Meditatio for 9/11

Ground Zero 2008
On BigShoes it is a quiet day and where I’ve kicked off my shoes for silence in remembrance of 9/11. My shoes are still off but at WritelyApplied we’ll have silent contemplation after this short meditation by Ezra Pound.

Whatever you feel about Ezra Pound and his politics it should not distract from his work as a poet. If poets ran the world would there have been a 9/11. Oh, I’m sure; we do have a lot of angry poets after all.

Meditatio by Ezra Pound is the first poem I came across today. I was going to look for something American, something silent and strong to stir the soul. Who am I kidding? 9/11 is as good a day as any to rack your brains and ask why, shrug your shoulders and have the look of “HUH?” written across your brow. Funny how the first poem I came to did that to me, it really says all you need to know about man.

Ezra Pound - Meditatio

When I carefully consider the curious habits of dogs
I am compelled to conclude
That man is the superior animal.

When I consider the curious habits of man
I confess, my friend, I am puzzled.
